I am pleased at the progress Highfield is making in regards to the national objectives for all schools to achieve by 2010. 

We still have some work to do especially around providing a safe place for students to be from 8am to 6pm during term time and more flexibly in the holidays. 

Also to increase family learning opportunities. 

Through involving all stakeholders in the ownership and communications of a broad vision for Highfield, I am confident that we will ensure the Every Child Matters agenda and the goal to make the school the heart of the community will become a reality in our locality. 

I very much look forward to hearing the ideas put forward and to working with management and staff to continue to raise standards of achievement for all.

• Where will extended school lie in the new buiding?
• Also what about the weekend use of our new building???
• How many of our staff are aware of the National Objectives with regard to extended schools?
• How can we bring them into the discussion?
